"David Cruz is a community leader with a heart of gold. He was born in Mexico and grew up in Del Rio, TX. He has been in San Antonio since the age of 18. David graduated from Northwest Vista College and continued on to University of the Incarnate Word. After spending 13+ years in the government travel industry, he took the plunge into real estate and never looked back. His life’s work now involves helping families across the state of Texas and the entire USA buy, sell, and even invest in their properties.
When he isn’t working, he’s very involved in the community and has given much of his time, talents, and treasures into organizations including National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) as the 2024 Chapter President, on the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance as an active member, a 2024 Housing Forecast committee member with SABOR and a member of TEXAS Association of Realtors Diversity Committee. David was also the reigning 2020-2022 San Antonio River Walk King! He is the only three year reigning King, from 2020-2022 due to COVID-19. David’s hobbies include running 5K’s/Marathons, sky-diving, being in and on the water, spending time with his family, friends, dog-children and traveling all over the world. If David isn’t with a client and/or traveling with his partner of 24 years, you can find him volunteering his time with and fundraising for various Non-Profit Organizations, which include CASA, SAAF, SAPD Blue Angels and the San Antonio River Walk Association – just to name a few.
One of David’s lifetime mottos has been to reinvent himself from time to time without losing foundation. This leads him to share that he can remember his father’s words, “Take care of your character because it is what people will remember you by and your reputation is what people think of you.” He believes this to be a true analogy of what his father represented.
